RGN have announced their first tournament for 2016, known as the "Winter Classic II," and it will feature a $10,000 prize-pool with open registration for interested North American teams.
When RGN debuted as an online tournament provider in North America last year, the organisation's first Winter Classic featured a $1,500 total prize-pool and witnessed a grand final that saw mouseSpaz (the core of whom would go on to become CLG) win the first edition.
Since then, the organisation has gone on to run a number of seasonal online tournaments in North America, as well as events such as the ongoing Freedom Cup and the Pro Series which brought together 16 teams for an offline $30,000 event in Santa Ana, California.
CLG's core (then known as mouseSpaz) won the first RGN Winter Classic
RGN's foray into 2016 sees them fork over $10,000 in prize money for an online event that will run from January 3-21 and will be called the Winter Classic II.
All and any interested North American teams will be able to register, with a deadline of January 1st at 11:59 (midnight Eastern Standard Time).
The entry fee for the Winter Classic II is $75 per team (or $15 per player) with a double elimination bracket involved that has a best-of-three upper bracket format and a best-of-one lower bracket. The grand final will see a double best-of-three format.
